Westport Farmers Market – Party In The Parking Lot

September 14, 6:30 – 9 PM
Tickets: $80 pp

For years the Westport Farmers’ Market has converted a non-descript parking lot at 50 Imperial Avenue into a weekly shopping extravaganza featuring local food and farmers, children’s, activities, music, and more. On Thursday evening, September 14th, the WFM will further transform that same lot into a not-to-be-missed “Party in the Parking Lot!”

Why a “Party in the Parking Lot!” you might ask? Lori Cochran-Dougall, executive director and market manager of the WFM, explains: “The Westport Farmers’ Market is lucky to host our weekly market in the Imperial lot. This location we call home provides a welcoming space for shoppers, eaters and vendors alike. When we considered a location to host a party, it simply seemed logical to celebrate our home.”

Like so many other events sponsored by the WFM, the party on Thursday evening, the 14th, from 6:30 to 9, will be like no other. Guests will be welcomed with seasonal cocktails from Cask Republic and a host of chefs from favorite Fairfield County restaurants (to be revealed soon!) will serve specialties in a distinctively casual, family-style setting. Music will fill the late-summer air, and folks can take their chances with drawings that highlight items featuring dinners, music, travel, home goods, and lots of surprises.

The Party in the Parking Lot! will be this year’s largest fundraiser in support of the Westport Farmers’ Market, a 501c3 organization that reaches 30,000 eaters per year throughout Fairfield County. “This party is being held to support the efforts and mission of the Westport Farmers’ Market,” says Cochran-Dougall. “Not only do we reach more than 30,000 eaters a year, the WFM operates eight educational and impactful programs that influences chefs, farmers, adults, and children through its commitment to the Westport and surrounding communities.”

“How many organizations do you know that can take an empty parking lot and turn it into a community hub with a quaint atmosphere once a week in a six-hour period of time?” asks Cochran-Dougall. “This party and fundraiser will reflect all that the WFM organization stands for by celebrating chef, farmers, eaters and one another. It’s going to be a hoot!”

September 23, 6 PM
Tickets: $150 pp

Join us for a Rockin’ Evening on the Farm

We are thrilled to have you at our fifth-annual farm-to-table Harvest Fest event on Saturday, September 23 at Wakeman Town Farm. Held on the farm grounds and under a festive tent draped with twinkling lights, Harvest Fest is a magical evening, featuring fabulous fare and libations, generously contributed by local farmers and prepared by rock star chefs. Wine and signature cocktails will be flowing! Music will be playing.

It’s a FUN-Raiser!

We are a nonprofit, and can’t live on love alone!

More than just a celebration of food, farm and fun, the event is designed to raise funds to support our various youth education programs. This year, we offered a number of camperships that allowed kids from underserved communities as well as Fresh Air Fund to take free camps this summer.

This is a FUN-raiser.

Please bring cash and/or your checkbook and plan to bid on some of our fun “egg-buster” prizes and our larger auction items, including a variety of exclusive private food and wine experiences, such as private chef dinners and an oyster farm cruise with lobster bake on a gorgeous waterfront property for you and 9 friends.  Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

See you at the farm!

This year’s lineup includes an array of courses from local restaurants, including Terrain, Fire & Rice Paella, Barcelona Wine Bar, El Segundo, Fairfield Cheese Co., Outdoor Cookers-Best in Gourmet, and Saugatuck Sweets, among others.
