How many people do you know, who can honestly say that they LOVE going to work? No many, right? For the most part ours is a culture centered around weekends and weekend-activities. But what if there is something that makes our otherwise grueling work-week a bit more fun? Something to look forward to? Something that is sure to put a smile on our faces?
What can I possibly be talking about?
Well, I am talking about food of course… after all I AM a foodie. And for me, the one thing that makes me look forward to a new work week starting each Monday morning- is planning my meals at the Food Trucks that will be coming to at my office complex. Think Melt Mobile. Think Vanchetta. Think Maddy’s Food Truck. Oh! what the heck …. think Dominick’s Ice Cream Truck!!! They each have their set days on the weekly calendar. Come noon-time, all I have to do is step outside my office building and say, “I want one of those, and two of these and ….”. It IS a foodie’s dream come true. ![]()
I love food trucks. I love the concept. I love that they offer flavorful food ready to eat and in my hands within minutes of ordering- without me having to go through the formality of sit-sown places. Lately, a new food truck is added to the weekly roster and it has me and all my colleagues squealing with excitement. Bodega Taco Truck. Yeah, baby!
Bodega is one of those few food trucks where I love practically everything on the menu. Food is always served fresh and prepared with love. Everything looks just as appetizing on my disposable plates - as it would on ceramic plates in the restaurant itself. Bodega Taco Truck’s menu packs a big punch of flavor and the food doesn’t feel too oily and greasy when eaten. I LOVE the two sauces they keep by their window - allowing me to boost the flavors and spice levels to my liking.
The menu is small but it offers the best of Bodega - right down to the hand-slapped guacamole and homemade chips. Taco shells are always light and soft, and they blanket the fillings to delicious and textural perfection. Empandas are totally delish while the Bodega bowls are wholesome and satisfying. You must try the Baja taco with tender and juicy Mahi-Mahi, and the Conchinita Pibil (with slow cooked pork) …. even their cuban sandwich was amaze-balls!!!
The truck comes to my work in AmeriCares (Stamford) complex on Wednesdays but you can catch it at Veterans park in Stamford on Fridays. Happy eats!
