Ahhhmazing!!!!

I loved the spicy, sweet, peanutty, tangy, flavors married with incredible textural contrasts and and super-moist bites, after bites after bites! What a find! Lao Sze Chuan in Milford CT is really a must-do for everyone who would like to know what Chinese food should taste like.

I went there for lunch with my gal-pal Archie. While it was just the two of us, we had an unspoken understanding that we WILL be ordering a lot of food - to get a really comprehensive experience of what this restaurant is all about. And so we ordered. And ordered. And ….

It was pure heaven, because everything tasted incredible. Each dish was a flavor-explosion. Each bite bold and addictive! I don’t know about you but, usually after eating Chinese food I feel remorse for a long while - because the greasiness of the food kicks in an hour later. Not so at Lao Sze Chuan. It didn’t seem like the dishes were skimping on oil mind you - but somehow none of them had the heavy, oily aftermath.

I have never been to China. I have to admit that all I know is the Americanized version of Chinese food - that we are all used to in suburbia. But eating at Lao Sze Chuan, I instinctively felt that this is what real Chinese food would taste like. Despite the strong flavors, this food had an incredible and undefinable delicacy to it.

Hot and Sour soup - of all the dishes, this was one that was not anything special in taste

Bang Bang Chicken - Delicious. Peanutty. Cold chicken dish.

Szchezuan Dumplings - You must order this!

Steamed Shrimp Dumplings

Schezuan White Pepper Prawns - loved how the white pepper created such a flavor contrast to everything else at our table. Prawns cooked perfectly.

Chicken Pan Fried Noodle - good dish but not as strong as some other things on the menu.

Whole Striped Bass- Dont even debate this. Just order it! Loved the many many layers of spices as well as the super moist fish. Incredible!
